Livermore Valley popularly known for wine production is situated in the eastern area of Alameda Country, California. It is tri surrounded by the Diablo Range on the north, east and south; linked to the west with the Amador Valley.It has a unique east-west orientation among northern California wine growing regions.
Livermore Valley is named after Robert Livermore who was a local rancher settled in this area in 1830s. During the California gold rush, his name and the valley where his ranch was located, started to become well known by the hosted travellers on the roads towards the east of the gold fields through the passes in the Diablo Range.
